Sunrise, FL – StellarAlgo and the NHL’s Florida Panthers are proud to announce a new partnership, which includes the full suite of StellarAlgo’s Customer Data Platform (CDP) plus data warehouse. With a focus on understanding fan behaviors across its entire ecosystem, the Panthers have invested in the leading CDP for sports and entertainment to help them better understand and engage with their fans to drive their ongoing digital transformation.
“StellarAlgo and the Panthers share a common goal to provide exemplary service to fans and clients, and their Customer Data Platform will be an integral resource to personalize our relationship with our fans and clients through customizable offerings,” said Sam Doerr, Chief Strategy Officer at the Florida Panthers. “StellarAlgo is the leader in understanding and activating customer data, so adopting their CDP and data warehouse gives us the flexibility and control we need to continue to grow and innovate.”
StellarAlgo and the Panthers are partnering to enable a greater understanding of fans and customers to better tell the story of who Panthers fans truly are, and to unlock opportunities and insights into how to grow their fanbase. Using their new CDP and data warehouse, the Panthers will provide measurable data-driven processes that will help them to uncover new fan insights, and inform and drive their marketing, sales, and service strategies.
The Panthers will also be the first to implement StellarAlgo’s enhanced retention scoring models. Since early 2020, the StellarAlgo data science team has been investigating and measuring changes in fan behavior and engagement across the sports and live events industry, using those findings – supported by Panthers Insights, the club’s business intelligence team – to refine and optimize predictive retention scoring models for each property and market. Designed to be the most sophisticated in the industry, StellarAlgo’s enhanced retention scoring models will enable brands to quickly and easily measure and test customer engagement, avidity, propensity, and more, within specific markets.
“The opportunity to work with a partner who invites us to collaborate on new features, such as the enhanced retention score modelling – to combine our institutional knowledge with their data science expertise and research – is game-changing,” said Cole Cook, VP of Business Intelligence for the Florida Panthers. “We’re delighted to be the first to implement StellarAlgo’s enhanced retention scoring models, to build it into our nurturing strategy this season, and to deliver a more personalized approach to our fans.”
“I’m thrilled to welcome the Florida Panthers to the StellarAlgo community, as they build an integrated 360-degree understanding of their fans and customers across all properties and platforms. It’s a true pleasure to work with Sam and his Panthers Insight team, who are innovation leaders in the sports industry with their strong focus on using data to not only better understand their customers, but to deliver a meaningful fan experience at every turn,” said Megan Kurcwal, VP of Sales and Marketing at StellarAlgo. “We’re fortunate to work with some of the best minds in the industry, and to have the opportunity to further collaborate with the Panthers on the leading-edge optimization of our retention score modelling is incredibly exciting. I, and the entire StellarAlgo team, are excited and energized by the current rollout of the enhanced retention score modelling and the insights this will bring to not only the Panthers, but the entire StellarAlgo ecosystem.”
In the coming months, this enhanced retention scoring will be rolled out to all StellarAlgo partners who currently have retention scoring included in their Customer Data Platform. Watch for additional information, including behind-the-scenes insight into the impact of StellarAlgo’s enhanced retention score modelling, in coming months.

The Florida Panthers entered the National Hockey League in 1993, becoming one of the most successful first-year expansion teams in history. By just their third season, the Panthers reached the 1996 Stanley Cup Final in memorable fashion during their ‘Year of the Rat’ run as fans in South Florida littered the ice with rubber rats in celebration of goals and wins. In 1998, the Panthers moved from Miami Arena to their current home in Sunrise, Florida, FLA Live Arena, where the club has won two division titles (2011-12 and 2015-16), hosted the NHL Draft twice (2001 and 2015) and the NHL All-Star Game in 2003.
Led by owner Vincent J. Viola since September 27, 2013, the organization has placed an emphasis on building a winning culture in South Florida and becoming stewards of its community. Under General Manager Bill Zito and Head Coach Joel Quenneville, the Panthers have grown into a fast, dynamic and exciting team boasting 2020-21 Frank J. Selke Trophy recipient Aleksander Barkov, elite young playmakers Jonathan Huberdeau and Carter Verhaeghe, stalwart defensemen Aaron Ekblad and MacKenzie Weegar, two-time Vezina Trophy recipient Sergei Bobrovsky, and young group of top draft picks on the rise featuring forwards Owen Tippett, Grigori Denisenko and Anton Lundell, and goaltender Spencer Knight.
